Nurseries & Schools

Children starting nursery/school need to have strongly developing speech, language and communication skills to support their learning and development. Sadly we know for many children this is not the case and they need extra help.

You may be looking to enrich the communication environment of your setting or you may want specialist help from a speech and language therapist to work with staff and children.

DayBrookes SLT is able to offer the following:-

  • Training for staff on a wide range of speech, language and communication skills. Training can be tailored to your unique settings’ needs or we can offer accredited training such as ELKLAN. For further information about ELKLAN accredited training please see
  • Screening assessments of groups of children to highlight those children who need more help and what help is needed
  • Group sessions with staff and children to carry out activities to develop listening/attention, understanding, expressive language, speech and phonological awareness skills
  • 1:1 work with children
  • Assessment  and written advice for children for whom you wish to apply for Education, Health Care Plan
  • Clinical supervision for speech & language therapists working in your school

We are also happy to discuss with you how we can measure and evaluate progress towards your settings’ outcomes.

Please note for any work with children in your nursery/school we will need you to ensure that parental consent is in place.
